The route over water that connects the port of El Bluff with the Río Escondido is marked with a system of 20 buoys, 16 of them with light, and they are located on the Route towards pescanica. This channel has a depth of 4,5 mts and is 60 mts wide. The 4 remaining buoys are in the pilot station with the lighthouse. Depth in the maneuvering docks is of 3,5 - 4,5 mts. All this allows for a more reliable and safe navigation.
Also, the Barra of El Bluff is signalized in the area where the depth of the boats is limited to a maximum of 5 meters at mean sea level (MSL). The Port offers the services of pilotage between the Port El Bluff and the Port El Rama at a distance of 90 Kilometers over the Río Escondido.
It is a Port that is only connected to the rest of the country over water and through telephone and radio communication. Transport over land is not possible as the Port El Bluff is located on a peninsula with no road connecting it to the mainland.
