The port of San Miguelito is located in the center of the area comprised of the department of the Río San Juan and the coast of the Lake of Nicaragua, at approximately 10 km to the north of the Port of San Carlos.

Only 248 km away from the capital, Port San Miguelito is located in one of the regions with the most diverse fauna and flora of Nicaragua, on the eastern shore of the great Cocibolca Lake and with a privileged geographic position.  

The port has concrete pier built on gabions, with a length of 169 mts. and 3,30 mts. wide.  The depth in the dockage area is of approximately 8 feet. On the pier´s platform there is a railway line that connects with the warehouse, that is used to transport the cargo from the pier to the warehouse and vice versa, by means of small wagons.  It also has a warehouse for cargo storage.
