What to visit in the Historic Centre of Managua?
Besides everything that the Port “Salvador Allende” offers, you can also visit:
The Cultural Centre of Managua, home of the National Museum and The School for Fine Arts. Its walls are one of the few remaining witnesses of the old Managua.
The historic Grand Hotel, located on the famous Roosevelt Avenue, for many years the favourite option of national and international tourists for their stay in Managua.
The National Theater “Rubén Darío”, with elegant columns of modern architecture, has modern equipment for folklore performances, theater plays, concerts and important meetings.
The Republic Square and the National Palace, stage for the historic National Palace on July 19, 1979.

The historic Cathedral of Managua, destroyed by the earthquake of 1972.
Museum Huellas de Acahualinca (“the footprints of Acahualinca”), forms a group of human and animal footprints, left in the volcanic clay. Located on the shores of Lake Xolotlán, it shows the historic presence of humans in these Central American lands.
